Solid IPL device, great ice cooling, weak accessories — and read the fine print on that 24J claim
For context: I’m very fair skinned with dark hair — ideal IPL candidate.I also have a reference point here: I used a Silk’n Flash&Go years ago, rated at 4J.This is better than that.The ice cooling surprised me — I expected a gimmick, but it gets pretty cold. Depending on which direction you move it you either pre-cool the skin ahead of the flash or cool it down immediately after. Pre-cooling felt more effective to me. Either way it makes a real comfort difference.Auto mode is the star feature for usability. It flashes and the roller advances you just the right distance for the next pulse automatically, making full body sessions genuinely fast. I ran it at level 5 the whole time — anything lower felt pointless, would be too weak to be effective. At level 5 it’s nearly painless, with the occasional flash that hits more intensely depending on the spot, I used it on my forearms, hands, and neck.The dual pulse is very noticeable — there’s roughly 100-200ms between shots, and the second is clearly stronger than the first. Whether that translates to meaningfully better follicle penetration I can’t say yet, but it’s not subtle.Build quality on the device itself feels solid and premium. The packaging is nice.Then there are the accessories.The included protective glasses are a problem. They have such an extreme curve that they won’t fit over prescription glasses, and frankly don’t inspire much confidence regardless. I used my own over-glasses IPL safety eyewear instead. The included 4-blade razor feels equally throwaway — everyone already has something better. Both accessories feel like box-filler inclusions they’d have been better off skipping or upgrading. But since those aren’t significant to the product, I’m not docking it for that.One thing that annoyed me: the listing prominently advertises 24J, which sounds like a big number compared to competitors. What it actually means is 8J/cm2 over a 3cm2 aperture. Technically accurate, but the framing is deliberately misleading. The 3cm2 treatment window is actually a genuine advantage for speed — I just wish they’d led with that instead of a number designed to confuse.Safety note worth flagging: in auto mode the device doesn’t require full skin contact to fire — partial contact is enough to trigger a flash. Protective eyewear is not optional. The included glasses unfortunately aren’t up to the task for anyone wearing prescription lenses, so plan accordingly.Early days yet on results, but the device itself is well made, fast, and comfortable to use. Cautiously optimistic.

easy way to remove hair at home
Using this device has been a neat experience for me. I’ve shaved and/or waxed my leg and underarm hairs for 30 years now, and like every other woman in the same boat, I’m obviously sick of doing it. I was a little nervous to try this hair removal device because what do you mean, it zaps my hair follicles? What do you mean, I have to wear protective glasses so my eyes don’t fry? I started off using level 1 on my underarms because of those nerves, and it was fine! The cooling effect is awesome and helpful. Level 2 was painless for me also. I did feel a bit of burning with level 3, but it wasn’t bad. I’ve only tried one zap at level 4 and didn’t like it, so I’ll build up my tolerance some more before I use it regularly.I zapped every other day and did notice my hairs coming back more slowly and sparsely! I’ve been at it a month and am pleased by my results.I do wish the different modes were explained more thoroughly— I know the auto mode is for the legs, but I’m not actually sure which to use for my underarms because that’s some of my thickest hair. I’ve been using the body hair setting in manual mode and it takes less than a minute total to do both sides!Though it’s taking time and diligence, I’m thrilled with this device and would recommend it to anyone looking to get rid of their body hair without making regular appointments at (and payments to) a salon.
